What happens when the cornea is cut?
Dysfunction of the corneal innervation produces a degenerative condition known as neurotrophic keratitis. Most clinical cases of neurotrophic keratitis are caused by cataract and retinal surgery, panretinal photocoagulation, corneal transplant, cycloablation, and keratorefractive procedures such as radial keratotomy, photorefractive keratectomy, and LASIK.
Cyanocobalamin 0.05%
Deficiency of Cyanocobalamin (also known as Vitamin B12), leads to neurological disorders, which are associated with demyelination, which leads to axial degeneration and irreversible neuronal damage. Topical treatment that contains stabilized vitamin B12 leads to rapid and complete healing after corneal damage.
Taurine 0.5%
In addition to the known osmotic effect, Taurine has a protective effect against damage caused by oxidizing agents on the ocular surface.
Sodium Hyaluronate 0.5%
Sodium Hyaluronate forms a viscoelastic protective layer on the ocular surface, which enhances the residence time of other ingredients contained in the eye drops. Promotes cell motility, adhesion and proliferation.
