CO Q10 100mg is a dietary supplement containing Coenzyme Q10 in the form of ubiquinone.
Liposomal formulation technology results in greater absorption and bioavailability of active substances and vitamins.
Liposomes offer several advantages for the delivery of vitamins and dietary supplements:
they protect the active substance from oxidation and degradation in the acidic pH of the stomach;
they increase absorption and bioavailability compared to free forms or other conventional delivery systems (e.g., tablets, suspensions, and capsules).
Liposomes
Liposomes are colloidal dispersion systems used to transport bioactive molecules; they facilitate this transport, thereby enhancing the molecules' efficacy. Depending on the preparation method and the physicochemical characteristics of their constituent units, the size of liposomes can range from the nanometer scale to several micrometers. Historically, in the early 1960s, there was a trend toward studying the biophysical properties of colloidal systems composed of lipids and phospholipids, with the aim of understanding the biophysical functions of cells. The biophysicist A.D. Bangham studied lipid-based colloidal dispersions to simulate cell membranes and investigate their functionality.
Since liposomes are prepared from structural materials similar to those found in our own cells, they offer advantages related to their "compatibility" with human tissues. They have the capacity to transport lipophilic bioactive molecules—which do not dissolve easily in aqueous media and thus face challenges regarding absorption and bioavailability (e.g., vitamins, curcumin, etc.)—as well as water-soluble or amphiphilic molecules, enhancing their dissolution rate and absorption through the gastrointestinal tract.
Liposomes are capable of transporting bioactive substances and improving their ability to cross the barriers of the gastrointestinal tract, serving as effective "vehicles" for the delivery of bioactive molecules. Liposomal technology—specifically the innovative technology of supramolecular phospholipid complexes with a lipid bilayer structure—can enhance the therapeutic efficacy of dietary supplements. This represents an innovation in the field, adding significant value to the final dosage form.
