Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is a specialized 23-micronutrient multivitamin formula designed by Lamberts® Scientific Department for women of reproductive age who:
- either hope to conceive
- are pregnant
- is breastfeeding
The chemical composition of Multi-Guard®Pregnancy is oriented to completely cover the increased nutritional needs of the woman during the preconception period, pregnancy (where it simultaneously covers the needs of both the pregnant woman and the child) and lactation.
When taken daily, it provides the required amount of folic acid specified by the World Health Organization (400mcg), combined with ideal levels of other vitamins and minerals necessary for this important period.
Ensuring adequate intake of folate is very important as it contributes to the development of maternal tissue during pregnancy*. The folic acid contained in Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is in the form of calcium L-methylfolate, which is the metabolically active (methylated) form of folic acid. In this way, adequate metabolic coverage of all women is ensured, including those who are unable to methylate folic acid (polymorphisms in the MTHFR gene).
In addition, it provides 150μg of iodine per tablet, an amount that coincides with the recommendations of the American Gynecological Association regarding iodine intake during pregnancy. Adequate iodine intake indirectly ensures proper intrauterine development of the baby's brain, as iodine contributes to normal thyroid hormone production and normal thyroid function.
Use:
- Suitable for vegetarians.
- Assimilation time: Less than 1 hour.
- Dosage: 2 tablets daily with meals or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage.
