Armolipid is a dietary supplement containing: Policosanol and Red Yeast rice, as well as coenzyme Q10, folic acid and astaxanthin. The ingredients in the formulation are useful for controlling cholesterol and plasma triglyceride levels in a varied and balanced diet. Astaxanthin is a very powerful, natural antioxidant.

Polycosanol is produced from the sugar cane housing. It reduces total and "bad" LDL cholesterol and protects the vessels from atherosclerosis. Red Yeast Rice contains the active substance monacolin that has a similar activity to statins, but without their side effects. It blocks HMG-CoA reductase (which the body needs to synthesize cholesterol) and reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood. It can also help lower bad LDL cholesterol in combination with lifestyle and diet changes.
Folic acid helps reduce blood homocysteine levels by increasing its conversion to methionine or cysteine and protecting the heart. It is well known that high levels of homocysteine in the blood are involved as causative factors in the development of atherosclerosis and are also associated with the increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Astaxanthin and coenzyme have strong antioxidant activity and protect the heart.
Armolipid is ideal for the prevention and treatment of dyslipidemia in people with high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, with or without high transaminases. It does not increase blood glucose, liver enzymes and creatine phosphokinase. It is safe for children from the age of 8 years and older than 75 years.
