Solgar® Cherry Turmeric Complex combines cherry with turmeric, with the addition of many other botanicals. The Montmorency cherry, also known as the sour cherry or dwarf cherry, is native to Southwest Asia and Europe. There are two types of cherries: the sweet cherry (Prunus avium) and the sour cherry (Prunus cerasus). Both types are eaten, and the sweet cherry in particular has been consumed since prehistoric times. This special formula contains cherry equivalent to 540 mg of the fruit. Turmeric’s active ingredients include beneficial bioflavonoids, the so-called Curcuminoids, plant antioxidants. They help fight free radical damage in the body. Turmeric originates from Southeast Asia and belongs to the ginger family, with a long history in traditional Ayurvedic history. The daily dosage provides an amount equivalent to 720 mg of turmeric root. In addition, this formula has additional anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of various herbal products. Ginger is a plant related to turmeric. It is believed to have powerful beneficial effects on health, due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. An amount equivalent to 450 mg of the root has been added to this active formula. Quercetin is a non-citrate bioflavonoid that works synergistically with Vitamin C. Bioflavonoids are found naturally in fruits, vegetables and herbs and are a class of powerful phytochemicals. They help maximize the benefits of Vitamin C. Cayenne has been used as an herbal remedy for thousands of years, as it contains capsaicin, a phytochemical. Black pepper is a widely used spice, and its benefits are believed to extend beyond its flavor to foods.
